Central Coast Dive Center is THE best dive shop in Cincinnati. They're a top-rated PADI learning center (tough credentials to get) with a long roster of highly qualified, extremely experienced PADI IDC instructors, Master Scuba Diver Trainers, Assistant Instructors and Dive Masters. These people LOVE diving, and even better, they LOVE to teach diving!! Tommy, Pimmy, Ken, Bob, Michelle, Jeff... the list goes on. They have fun but safety always comes first. In the past year I've gotten my Open Water, Adv. OW, and Rescue Diver certifications with CCDC and when I've traveled for diving, I've been told many times by other DMs and Instructors at resort dive shops that I have had excellent training, much better than what they typically see. I've also seen a lot of people from other local dive shops who get their OW certification and then come to CCDC for the rest of their training... it really speaks to the quality you get at CCDC. Other Pro's - the facility is great, very professional with nice classrooms, clean & spacious men's and women's locker rooms with showers/ lockers/ restroom facilities, and a nice big heated indoor pool that is used exclusively for diving. You can come in any time there's someone in the shop (often later/earlier than the listed hours of operation) and practice skills in the pool for as long as you want. They're flexible and accommodating, really available 24/7. If you're looking for a dive shop for your Open Water Certification (and beyond!), stop looking elsewhere, because this is the shop to go with!!
What a great find! I found about this place through a great dive shop in Grand Cayman. The facilities are great. The pricing is fair, and the staff is nothing short of fantastic. If you're a new diver looking to learn, or even an experienced diver even looking to get better, I would strongly recommend this place.
UPDATE: I loved this dive shop so much that I took their PADI Pro courses so I could become an instructor there, and introduce others to diving the same way Tommy, Ken, Bob, Mike, and the rest of the CCDC staff introduced me to it. Several years later, I'm proud to say that the shop is still as awesome as it was the first day I walked in, and I now have the honor of being part of that magic. It is a privilege for which I'm incredibly grateful. You cannot go wrong with Central Coast Dive Center.

If you are looking for a place to learn how to dive and don't like the slimy / high pressure feeling you might get from visiting another dive shop in the area, this is the place you want to be. The staff is patient, helpful, and the shop and pool are very clean and in good repair. There are great instructors that can match most any learning style and they offer great diving packages throughout the year! My wife liked this dive shop so much, that she earned her instructor's certification and teaches there now! I can't say enough good things about this dive shop, and it is close to downtown Cincinnati too!
Staff is very knowledgeable, super friendly, They provide dive trip opportunities that are great fun, memorable, with terrific people.
